Love: one step at a time

When Stephen Cottrell walked the Camino del Norte to Santiago de Compostela in 2016 he set himself the happy task of writing a sonnet each day. He never thought they would be published. He composed them for the sheer joy of it.

But such a long walk does things to you. He learned about vulnerability. He learned what enough looks like. He learned about the spaces between A and B. He learned that you cannot choose your fellow companions. And in learning all this he learned about love: that it is a commitment that you have to make each day.

This session will be about walking the Camino and what it did to one pilgrim. It will be illustrated with pictures and poems from the book Striking Out.
