The North Cotswold Chamber Choir is one of the finest choral groups in Oxfordshire. Formed in 1992, our repertoire embraces a huge range of styles encompassing music of the last thousand years, from Gregorian plainchant , via sacred Tudor anthems and masterpieces of the Baroque period, to secular, contemporary and popular works.
Peter has been a guest conductor and singer with the choir for over twenty years. From September 2019 he became joint conductor with Sarah Tenant-Flowers and together they are planning ambitious programmes for the future. Passionate about choral singing, Peter is a regular singer in the area and has conducted the Chipping Norton Choral Society for twenty two years. His background is music education and since retiring from the Berkshire Music Hub in 2015 he has devoted his time to running large-scale singing projects with children in Berkshire and Oxfordshire, training and choral workshops. Peter started an adult Singing for Wellbeing group in Banbury in 2016, part of his role as a trustee for the charity Sound Resource, and also launched a Singing for Parkinson’s group last year. He is an active supporter of the NHS Social prescribing initiative, using singing as a means of non-medical intervention to help those living with a range of conditions.
